VIDEO: Hotel fish killer threatens TV crew

A MAN convicted of spearing two fish in a pond in a hotel foyer has been caught on film swearing and trying to intimidate a television news cameraman.

On Friday, Casey Smales, Corey Sterrett and Jacob Butler pleaded guilty to one count each of unlawfully killing an animal by night and trespass.

In July the three teenagers had entered a the Hilton in Cairns, killed two barramundi in the pond in the foyer with a speargun, before gutting their 'catch' at a nearby car wash.

The trio have since apologised to the hotel and have a year to complete 100 hours of community service. No conviction were recorded.

However it seems Jacob Butler was none to happy to see the media outside the court.

A video has emerged of the young man cursing at a television cameraman from WIN News in Cairns, taking his shirt off and yelling "put the camera down".

Meanwhile, a female reporter can be heard asking, "how embarrassed are you Jacob?"

The media outlet shared the video on their Facebook page on Friday.
