Vandals wreck mountain bike club’s state titles efforts

MEMBERS of the Mad Mountain Bike Club want to know who vandalised machinery at their Glendaragh Rd track.

"It is a disgraceful act. Who would do something like this?" club president, Steve Elvey said.

Rocks were placed in the fuel tanks of diggers and electrical and hydraulic hoses were cut in senseless vandalism that has left club members upset and frustrated.

"This equipment is donated to us and the guys operating the equipment are volunteers," Mr Elvey said.

"We are in the process of preparing the track for the state titles. This has set us back a lot."

Police are investigating but Mr Elvey believes a lack of evidence will hinder the process.

"If anyone has any information I ask them to contact police and make a report," he said.

"Hopefully we can track down who is responsible for this incident."

If you have any information regarding the vandalism phone Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000
