Under-fire Pies coach has no plans to walk away
AFL: Collingwood coach Nathan Buckley will not walk out on the club before the end of the season.
Magpies officials informed players on Tuesday that a decision on Buckley would be made after the season. The side is 15th and facing its fourth straight year missing finals.
Buckley attended the meeting held before an open training session at Olympic Park.
"I've been told by the board that there's no decision until the end of the season and the players are aware of that, the footy program's aware of that and I suppose for what it's worth it just helps us maintain our focus week by week over the next seven-week period,” Buckley said.
"It was my intention and my understanding all along so I suppose it's good to be validated by the board.
"I knew exactly where it sat but the fact it's been reinforced doesn't hurt.
"I have no intent on that (resigning before the end of the season) at this point of proceedings.
"Those discussions are for the end of the season.”
