Two solid rounds gives Grant the Easter Cup

A CONSISTENT performance over two straight days has seen a long-time member walk away with the Coffs Harbour Golf Club's Easter Cup.

After scoring 37 stableford points off his handicap of 8 on the opening day of the 36 hole event, Grant Purdy then shot a 2-over 73 on Sunday to take his weekend total to an outstanding 79 points.

Mick Logan finished runner-up in the men's division after shooting 41 points on Saturday and following up with 33 points the next day.

In the ladies, scores of 32 points and 35 points over the weekend saw Joan Griffin claim the prize, finishing two points ahead of Gloria Hickey.

The gross scores saw David Rook as the lowest scoring male who shot 3-over on both days while Trish Nance shot the best combined scores off the stick for the ladies.

For the men the event served as a timely warm up for the Coffs Harbour club championships which begin on Saturday, April 9.
