Two new libraries for schools

TWO Coffs Coast schools are getting new libraries - and there will be more to come.

Bonville Public School and Karangi Public School will each receive a new $850,000 library as part of the Rudd Government's Building the Education Revolution package.

Minister for State Development and Labor and MLC for Coffs Harbour, Ian Macdonald, said the funding was a part of the Primary Schools for the 21st Century component of the package.

“These works will start progressively from May and June this year and will all be completed by December 20, 2010,” he said.

“This is a major invesment in public education in the Coffs Harbour area and I'm thrilled to see construction will be starting soon,” he said.

“This is just round one of the Primary Schools for the 21st Century program, with round two announced later this month and round three in July.

More local schools will receive upgrades through this intiative.
