Two men charged for illegal sale of firearms at Casino

TWO men have been charged with multiple firearms offences as a police operation continues in Northern NSW.

Strike Force Mitla was formed last year to investigate the supply of methamphetamine and the illegal sale of firearms in the Casino area.

Two men, both aged 26, were arrested and charged with 49 drug and firearm charges in May this year.

Following continued investigations by detectives, one of the men, from Casino, was charged on Thursday with an additional 24 offences, including 12 charges of illegal manufacturing of a pistol and seven charges of illegally selling a pistol.

On Friday, the second 26-year-old man was also charged with an additional 23 offences:

The second man is due to appear in Lismore Local Court on September 8.
