A MAN and woman were taken to Tweed Hospital late Saturday night after a shuttle bus hit a man on the Ewingsdale Rd, Byron Bay.

The Toyota Coaster minibus swerved left to avoid hitting a pedestrian at 11.30pm.

The 49-year-old male was clipped by the vehicle's bull bar.

His hip sockets were shattered and several ribs were broken.

He remains in intensive care in a stable condition.

The injured woman was one of four female passengers on the minibus.
