Twins' mum bags school bargains

WITH their bags packed and ready to go, four-year-old twins Makayla and Brianna Reed are very excited about their first day of prep school next week.

It's that time of year again as many parents finalise checking school items off their lists for first term, and Makayla and Brianna have been loving every part of it.

An Officeworks' national back to school survey this week revealed it costs an average $400 per child for uniforms, stationery, textbooks and other educational necessities.

However Makayla and Brianna's mum, Melinda, was able to get the job done a fair bit cheaper for her twins.

The girls will go to the Lighthouse Christian School, North Rockhampton.

"They're very excited, they have been counting down the sleeps," Melinda said yesterday.

"I got shoes for $2 from Best and Less when they were having a big sale, so if you shop around you can get a bargain on back-to-school stuff."
