Turn back the dial at Bowraville

IF radio plays like ‘Blue Hills’ and ‘On Your Selection’ resonate within your memory bank then a trip to Bowraville this Sunday might be an ideal way to step back in time.

The Bowraville Theatre is the venue for the recording of new material for ‘the Radio Show’ and members of the public are being invited to be part of the studio audience.

The two-hour recording session begins at 2pm and will consist of new short plays, sketches and a monologue and feature original material written by local writers.

Alan Samuels said the inclusion of the Short Back & Sides Quartet and local musician Sandra Schumacher performing her own original music ensured a fun-filled afternoon was on offer.

“The entertainment will be provided by three of the Bowraville Arts Council’s talented sub-groups: the Nambucca Valley Writers, the Theatre Players, and the Valley Performers,” Mr Samuels said.

“Local radio station 2NVR will record the performances for presentation on future radio programs.”

He said as the actors will be dressed in evening wear audience members will be welcome to dress up retro style to get in the mood.

Pam Debattista and Karl Dunkel form the Valley Performers will be among those fronting the microphones during the recording of the radio Show on Sunday.
