Truckin' in the Tropics: Andrew Bulmer
OWNER operator Andrew Bulmer is contracted to Holcim Australia and based in Townsville where he does most of his work.
Andrew was one of the players who lined up for the North Queensland Cowboys in their first three seasons, competing in the ARL.
Now aged 42 and still super fit, Andrew owns a Mack Metro-Liner powered by a 340hp Cummins motor with an automatic gearbox.
Big Rigs yarned to Andrew during the Townsville Convoy For Kids on May 21 when he had parked his Mack along with 160 other trucks.
"The majority of our work is in Townsville but we can be called on to travel up and down the coast from time to time,” Andrew said.
"I was born in Richmond and have lived and worked in the west since I finished playing football.”
Andrew was with family members including daughter Danielle, aged eight, who is pictured with him.
He likes stopping at the Lights on the Hill Roadhouse near Hughenden when travelling the Flinders Hwy.
"I like supporting outback communities and they are friendly people there,” he said.
