Traffic may be disrupted as car park upgrade takes shape

DRIVERS using Riding Place in the CBD during the week beginning Monday, November 3 should expect short delays to allow for deliveries of materials for the construction of the new roof on the top of Castle Street carpark.

Deliveries will be restricted to between 5am and 9am to minimise disruption.

However, during that time, the carpark in Riding Lane and a section of Riding Lane itself will be closed to traffic.

There also will be restrictions on parking on the upper levels of the Castle Street carpark.

Storage of building materials will be restricted initially to the north end of the top two levels of the carpark, which will reduce the number of all-day parking spaces on these levels.

As work on the new roof progresses, parking will be further restricted on the top two levels in order to maintain the safety of the public and the builders.

Access to parking above Coffs Central will be available via the air bridge at all times.

Council apologises for disruption.

The construction of the new roof is expected to be finished before Christmas, weather permitting.
