Traffic chaos in Melbourne after train and car crash

IF YOU'RE driving through Melbourne this morning, expect heavy traffic and delays after a train struck two cars at a level crossing in Officer.

Media reports said no-one was injured in the crash although two people were taken to hospital for shock.

It's understood that a car was stopped at Brunt Rd when it was rear ended shortly after 7am and both drivers had got out to exchange details before the boom gates came down.

They moved out of the way, but one car was pushed into the boom gates and ended up on the other side of the intersection and the second car was pushed 150m and became lodged beneath the train.
