Tourists head for Dorrigo

IF you see a large group of tourists scouring the Dorrigo Plateau next Wednesday, make sure you give them a welcoming smile and any help they need.

More than 70 volunteers from the Coffs Harbour, Urunga, and Bellingen Visitor Information Centres are heading up the mountain for a product familiarisation tour which will give them an understanding of the range of products and services within the Dorrigo area.

The day will commence at the Dorrigo Rainforest Centre, followed by a coach tour of local bed-and-breakfast accommodation and a walking tour of town.

“The familiarisation is a very important marketing tool in updating the product knowledge of our volunteers across the Coffs Coast,” the president of Tourism Bellinger, Guy Saddleton, said.

“We are working closely with our colleagues in the Coffs Coast to ensure that our customers are provided with the most up-to-date information on the region.”

Mr Saddleton said the tour was being sponsored by the Dorrigo Chamber of Commerce, the Dorrigo Tourist Association, the Dorrigo Heritage Hotel, the Canopy Café and Coffs Coast Visitor Information Centre.
