Total fire ban for Coffs Harbour, Bellingen and Nambucca

SEVERE conditions on the coast has prompted the NSW Rural Fire Service to declare a total fire ban on the North and Mid North Coast on Sunday.

Areas where the ban has been declared include the Coffs Harbour, Bellingen, Nambucca and Clarence Valley Local Government areas.

Other areas include Ballina, Byron, Kyogle, Lismore, Richmond Valley, Tweed, Gloucester, Great Lakes, Greater Taree, Kempsey, Port Macquarie, Hastings, Armidale Dumaresq, Glen Innes Severn, Guyra, Tenterfield, Uralla, Walcha, Gunnedah, Gwydir, Inverell, Liverpool Plains, Tamworth Regional, Moree Plains, Narrabri, Walgett and Warrumbungle.

The RFS has declared predicted Sunday condition as 'severe.'

No fires may be lit in the open.

All fire permits are suspended during the total fire ban.
