BOTH Sawtell and reigning premiers Park Beach Bowling Club (PBBC) Colts will be chasing outright points this afternoon.
This pair easily claimed first innings points last week and now they are hoping to reap the benefits of such strong opening-day play.
Sawtell will be on the lookout for quick runs before asking Coffs Tigers to bat again at Richardson Park.
Skipper Ben Andrews will no doubt be champing at the bit to get stuck into the opposition but he will allow a rare opportunity for individual glory to come before the good of the team.
Opening batsman Gus Garland has been sitting on 88 not out all week and Sawtell hope he can make another 12 runs this afternoon to bring up a memorable milestone.
To avoid a large defeat, the Tigers batting will need to improve dramatically on last week’s performance when it was dismissed for only 57.
Bellingen were dismissed for the same lowly total against the Colts last week and have already begun its second innings.
Colts currently lead by 50 runs after declaring in the first innings and will be looking to pick up some early scalps when play resumes at Coffs Coast Sport & Leisure Park.
There is one evenly poised clash this afternoon.
Dorrigo and Diggers Ex-Services are both confident of securing their first points of the season at Rowe Oval on the Plateau.
Dorrigo scored 9-169 last week and with a bowling attack boasting the likes of Justin Gilbert, Ben Neaves and new recruit, Rob Eddy, it is a score they will be confident of defending.

Dorrigo 9-169 v Diggers Ex-Services at Rowe Oval.
