Toowoomba truckies to be added to memorial

THE names of over 25 Toowoomba truck drivers will be added to the Lights on the Hill Trucking Queensland Truck & Coach Drivers Memorial tomorrow.

The memorial at Gatton's Lake Apex Park is a place to remember truck drivers who died on the roads and those who have spent most of their lives in the transport industry.

Memorial president Kerry Wilkins said far too often families received knocks on the door from police saying their loved ones would not be coming home.

A service will be held from 2pm followed by a dinner from 4.30pm at Gatton Shire Hall.
