Toowoomba Mountaineers close in on new coaches

The Mountaineers are currently in talks with new coaches.

TML director Peter Rookas said the club hoped to bring in dual Olympians Danny Morseau and Donna Quinn to lead the men and women's teams.

Both have strong ties to the club and region.

"Pop (Dickerson) bought Danny to club after Danny was cut by the Bullets in the 90s,” Rookas said.

"Danny was an intergral part of the Mountaineers success in those days.

"Donna is a Pittsworth girl and has achieved a lot in the basketball and business worlds.

"Both of them would bring an immense amount of competitiveness and experience to the club.”

Rookas said the Mountaineers were trying to find adequate employment for the duo - a key factor in their decision making process.
