Too wet for Coffs TAB meeting

CONTINUING bad weather has forced Coffs Harbour Racing Club to abandon today's TAB meeting.

A track inspection at 3pm yesterday by Chairman of Stewards, Bill Fanning, found the track unsafe in places and with the safety of animals and riders paramount, the decision was made.

CEO Russ Atkinson said an attempt was made to transfer the meeting to next Tuesday in case the weather cleared and the track had some time to dry out.

“It was rated a Heavy-10 already and the powers wouldn't give permission,” he said.

While the track will be closed to the public, the planned sponsors function will continue as scheduled.
