Tony Abbott hit CQ to talk jobs and power prices

FORMER Prime Minister Tony Abbott toured central Queensland pushing his own "jobs first" power policy, while his own government is yet to finalise its position on the contentious topic.

The move by the ousted Liberal leader has frustrated some colleagues, tired of his frequent rogue actions.

His taxpayer-funded appearance in Queensland, some 1400km outside his electorate of Warringah, surprised several of his colleagues.

Mr Abbott was in Gladstone with Flynn MP Ken O'Dowd yesterday, meeting with Queensland Alumina representatives to talk power prices and to speak with local business owners.
