Tones Truckin Stories: 'It's time to change this'
THE truckie behind Tones Truckin Stories reckons it is time for a change.
And what "elephant in the room" does he want changed, you ask? Well, it's got to do with highways. Specifically, the Pacific Highway and the New England Highway.
Tony Fulton said a lot had changed in the last 10 years and drivers were using the Pacific Highway a lot more than they used to.
"These highways, the Newell, the Hume, the Warrego, the Princes, they all run on Channel 40," he said in a video on his Facebook page.
"We all run on Channel 40 but for some reason the Pacific Highway still runs on (Channel) 29," he said in a video on his Facebook page.
"How many minutes does a truck driver spend coming out of Sydney and changing the channel back to 29? Too many hours and eyes off the road I feel. And that needs to change.
"The New England is the obsolete highway and the Pacific Highway is the one of the future.
"I vote that all of the highways, you go Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, should be Channel 40. Don't have to change it. Someone comes up, can't get onto them because they're on the wrong channel. How often does that happen? Let's change it."
What do you think?
