Titans sink depleted Sea Eagles

THE Gold Coast Titans have moved into the NRL top eight with a 30-10 win over Manly.

The Titans opened a 16-0 lead after just 19 minutes against a Manly side missing Daly Cherry-Evans, Nate Myles and late withdrawal Jamie Lyon to injury, and Dylan Walker to Origin duty.

But the Sea Eagles clawed the score back to 24-10 in the second half, and it wasn’t until Nene Macdonald scored with seven minutes remaining that the contest was over.

Worringly for Manly, which is now third-last on the ladder, young hooker Matt Parcell suffered a hamstring injury late in the game.

Titans 30 (Douglas, Don, Hoffman, James, McDonald tries; Roberts 5 goals) d Sea Eagles 10 (Taufua, Wiliame tries; Koroisau goal)
