Tip leads to arrest

A BOWRAVILLE man, 40, will face court next month after a tip-off led police to seize an excavator allegedly stolen from Sydney's south earlier this year.

Police from Macksville and Nambucca Heads on Tuesday raided a property on North Arm Road at Bowraville.

Police seized a new 14-tonne excavator, reported stolen from Sutherland in March, a Mitsubishi Triton utility, reported stolen from Nambucca Heads in August, and other earth-moving equipment.

The 40-year-old was arrested at the scene and taken to Macksville Police Station.

He was subsequently charged with two counts of knowingly dealing with the proceeds of crime, and recklessly dealing with the proceeds of crime.

The man was granted conditional bail to appear in Macksville Local Court on January 23.

Detective Inspector Mick Heap, said police could not fight crime alone.
