Three-year Tinder conversation, but this is not the end

IT'S always a gamble swiping right on somebody's Tinder profile.

You eagerly wait for that reassuring 'IT'S A MATCH' notification to pop up. And when it doesn't, you just tell yourself "they obviously weren't my soulmate," and go back to endless swiping.

But this wasn't the case for 22-year-old Josh Avsec who matched with his potential soulmate Michelle Arendas back in 2014.

Now, you would think after three years the young teens would have either met up, become friends, fallen in love or at least had riveting Tinder banter. But none of that has happened.

The pair has shared only eleven messages since Josh's polite greeting in September 2014, in which it took Michelle two months to reply to and it is hilarious.

This is the start of what would become a three-year long conversation between Josh and Michelle.

The teens would go months without responding to one another.

"Hahahaha one day I'm going to meet this girl and it's going to be epic," Josh recently shared on Twitter along with the two screenshots of their conversations.

Michelle even replied to Josh's tweet within the month, in fact she replied two hours later.

So if it's been three months and you still haven't received a response from your Tinder crush, have hope. That's the moral of this Tinder tale.

Just to add a final dash of extra excitement to this story, Tinder itself gave the pair 24 hours to decide on a dream destination where they could have their first date.

The pair settled on Maui in Hawaii -- and Tinder was only happy to oblige, even if it did get a swipe in there at the end.

"Aloha! We're sending you to Maui, but you can't take two years to pack your bags," Tinder tweeted.
