Three hospitalised after crash blocks Pacific Highway

THREE people have been taken to hospital following a serious two-vehicle crash at Glenugie.

The Pacific Highway was closed in both directions at Eight Mile Lane yesterday afternoon with traffic diversions put in place.

Police, paramedics and emergency services attended the scene and had the highway reopened by 4.30pm.

Witnesses suggest a vehicle driven by a 17-year-old female P-plater drove onto the highway and her vehicle was T-boned by a car containing two elderly motorists.

The teenager was driven by ambulance to Coffs Harbour Health Campus while Westpac Rescue Lifesaver 4 was called to airlift the couple to the same facility.

While no condition reports have been released, none of the injuries are believed to be life threatening.
