No injuries after three car smash

PARK Beach has come alive to the sound of shrilling sirens racing to a car smash.

The drama unfolded about 8pm on Wednesday when emergency crews on their way to the scene initially feared someone was trapped in their wreck.

They arrived to discover a 26-year-old man had driven his Nissan Micra east on Park Beach Road about 100 metres west of York Street.

Police said the P-plater did a U-turn into the path of another vehicle and the impact of that collision then shunted the Micra into a parked Honda sedan.

Miraculously, no-one was injured in the smash but all three cars had substantial damage.

“The visibly upset (Nissan) driver kept shaking his head and sat in a fold-out chair provided by neighbours until police came,” an eye-witness told the Advocate.

“Paramedics arrived but he did not require hospital treatment.”

The driver was later fined by police for negligent driving.
