Thousands expected at Bali Nine duo's funerals this week

SEPARATE public funerals will be held for Bali Nine ringleaders Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran.

Thousands are expected to attend the services this week.

Their deaths by firing squad last week on the Indonesian prison island of Nusakambangan followed almost 10 years in Bali's Kerobokan prison and a long, failed campaign by the Australian Government to bring them home.

Sukumaran's family has invited the public to "farewell and celebrate the life of their son and brother", at DaySpring Church in Sydney's Castle Hill on Saturday.

Archibald Prize-winning artist and close friend Ben Quilty will speak at the service.

Chan's funeral will be tomorrow at the Hillsong Church in Baulkam Hills, Sydney.

Both men's bodies were returned to Australia last Saturday.
