Vote for me: Craig Christie (The Greens)
THIS election is crucial for our future. The Greens priorities include:
- Cleaning up politics
With Labor and the Coalition caught up in corruption issues, it is vital to restore integrity and improve the culture of politics in NSW.
The Greens will ensure the future of ICAC, shine a light on lobbying and restrict donations to political parties.
- Transition to 100% renewable energy
This is possible, affordable and essential.
There are many more potential jobs across regional areas in solar and wind energy compared to fossil fuels.
The Greens want to develop a Smart Grid that will enable householders and small businesses to become energy traders. For this transition to work and ensure lower energy prices, the energy network must remain a public asset and not sold to profit makers.
- Retain public assets
Energy, health and education sectors need to be retained and not sold off.
Greens do not want an expensive and unfair American style health system in NSW.
The Nationals are following the privatisation ideology of the Liberal Party.
TAFE funding is being re-directed to private providers undermining the future of TAFE in NSW.
- Responsible mining
The Greens do not support inappropriate mining.
Therefore no CSG, no mining on agriculture land and no mining that impacts water.
This means no mining on the Coffs Coast, particularly toxic antimony and gold mining.
We can help alleviate climate change and ensure the health of our air, land, waterways and ocean by phasing out coal.
- Planning for people
Greens have endorsed the community charter for better planning. Whether it is lowering speed limits to address noise or opposing unsuitable development, it is vital that local community consultation is a fundamental part of local development.
Vote 1 Greens for clean politics, clean energy, and a fairer society.
