Third man charged over Vigors' bashing

POLICE have charged a third man over the bashing of Sawtellian Gary Vigors in August.

A Bonville man, 20, was arrested by detectives at Coffs Harbour Police Station on Monday afternoon and subsequently charged with reckless wounding in company, affray and malicious damage.

He was conditionally bailed to face Coffs Harbour Local Court on December 15.

Police allege the man punched Mr Vigors, 61, and struck him with a piece of timber in the August 15 attack in Sawtell's Elizabeth Street.

A Coffs Harbour man, 19, and a Toormina man, 19, will face court on Monday on charges of reckless wounding in company and affray.

Investigators are encouraging anyone with information about the assault to contact them at Coffs Harbour Police Station on 6652 0299.
