Thieves hold-up Macksville credit union

POLICE are investigating an armed robbery where three men stormed the Macksville branch of the bcu.

Police said the trio entered the Cooper Street financial institution on Monday around 2pm.

Two of the men were armed with knives and the third with a firearm.

They threatened staff and demanded cash.

The men left with cash in a southerly direction, and were last seen heading towards the Pacific Hwy in a maroon 4WD, similar to a Toyota Landcruiser.

They are described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance and were wearing balaclavas and gloves.

Police said no one was injured during the robbery.
