Thief raids kids’ pocket money, steals family car

A BRAZEN thief who broke in to a Sarina home while the family was away took more than the family car - they also raided the childrens' money box.

The intruder forced entry to the Kathleen St property through the back door and stole the funds from the children's money boxes.

The thief also stole keys from the kitchen bench and took off in the 2012 White Toyota Hilux dual cab.

The family had been out from January 12 and the vehicle was found about 9pm on Sarina Beach Rd on January 16, completely burnt out.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have information about either the offence itself or the vehicle fire to come forward.

Phone Policelink on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
