There's a fire sale at Sawtell

IF you’re in the market for a magnificent old fire station which has seen plenty of action, you may want to head to Sawtell’s Elizabeth Street.

The historic former Sawtell Fire Station is up for sale now that it’s been replaced by the new station on the intersection of Hogbin Drive and Sawtell Road at Toormina.

Caroline Campbell, from LJ Hooker Coffs Harbour, said there had been considerable interest in the property since it was listed for sale last week.

“We had an open house on Saturday and we had several groups through. We’ve also had a lot of telephone inquiries from people interested either in renovating or rebuilding,” Ms Campbell said.

“We’ve never sold a fire station before.”

Ms Campbell said a block across the road sold for $410,000 back in March.

The old station will be open for inspection each weekend until the on-site auction on December 5.

The new Sawtell Fire Station cost $1.5 million to build and opened in July.
