The Simple Gift at theatre
SUE Dickinson’s adaptation of Steven Herrick’s ‘The Simple Gift’ is back for a second year at the Jetty Memorial Theatre.
Presented last year for the first time ever, Ms Dickenson’s play was performed for Higher School Certificate students.
“We decided to bring it back because a number of schools contacted me and asked if we could,” she said.
Billy White (from Oliver Twist) plays runaway teen Billy, and Rhiannon Pettitt reprises her role as Billy’s love interest Caitlin. The young cast are accompanied by Chris Gooley playing Old Bill.
Bootlace Productions will present ‘The Simple Gift’ on March 5, 6, 10, 12 and 13 at 8pm and at 7pm on March 7 and 13. Tickets are $22 for adults and $18 for concession.
