The ‘Original’ Blues Brothers confirmed for Bluesfest

YOU will not be judged a snob for wearing your sunglasses at night this Bluesfest 2016, as The Original Blues Brother have been confirmed to close the festival next year.

The 'Original' Blues Brothers Band will perform on Easter Monday 2016, on one of the main stages, in an exclusive performance in Australia.

Original members hand-picked by John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd have assembled the ultimate Rhythm and Blues review and have emerged as a powerful entity in their own right.

The films

The Blues Brothers Band, best known for the Universal Pictures feature films The Blues Brothers (1980) and Blues Brothers 2000 (1998) and the Atlantic Record triple-platinum album Briefcase Full Of Blues and the soundtracks from both films.

Since regrouping in 1988, the band has triumphantly performed each year in international venues large and small.

The 'Original' Blues Brothers Band line-up includes Steve 'The Colonel' Cropper on guitar, Lou 'Blue Lou' Marini on sax, Leon 'The Lion' Pendarvis on keys, 'Smokin' John Tropea on guitar, Eric 'The Red' Udel on bass, Lee 'Funkytime' Finklestein on drums, Larry 'Trombonius Maximus' Farrell on trombone, Steve 'Catfish' Howard on trumpet, Bobby 'Sweet Soul' Harden on lead vocals, Rob 'The Honeydripper' Paparozzi on lead vocals and harmonica and Tommy 'Pipes' McDonnell on lead vocals

The Band will be led by Soul music icon Steve 'The Colonel' Cropper, who was ranked by MOJO Magazine as the second best guitarist ever.

More artists announced

Other artists announced for the line-up are Don Mclean, Russell Morris, The Blind Boys Of Alabama, Jeff Martin (The Tea Party), Archie Roach, Tex Perkins And The Ape, The Mastersons, Hussy Hicks and East Journey.

Headliners announced for the festival so far are Kendrick Lamar, Brian Wilson, Tom Jones, Melissa Etheridge, UB40 feat. Ali Campbell, Astro and Mickey Virtue, The Nationals, D'angelo plus Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, among others.

Today's announcement adds a further 10 artists to the bill, bringing the total 2016 artists announced to date to 62.

Having now released well over 70% of all of their artists for the 2016 line-up with more artist surprises up their sleeve.

Bluesfest will be held at Tyagarah, near Byron Bay from March 24 to 28, 2016.
