The Glen’s Glen steps up in big win over Yaralla
THE Glen posted a formidable 5-202 to record a 42-run win against Yaralla in round four of the A-grade Cap Club Challenge.
After losing two early wickets, the left-handed Sam Lowry and hard-hitting right-handed batsman Glen Stenton-Cook joined forces to put on over 50 runs.
Stenton-Cook was particularly savage where he picked off the lines of the Yaralla bowlers to crash boundaries with a series of lofted cover drives.
"I was seeing the ball OK and the pitch was not too bad and a bit slow," Stenton-Cook said.
"The opening bowlers were good and Jason Batchelor and Richardson were moving the ball a bit."
Batchelor had a good match in a losing cause to snare 2-35 and score 48 with captain Dylan Cross getting 43.
Meanwhile, Gracemere (7-175) got over the line against Frenchville by three wickets in the other match.
