The cornerstones of community

THE service that two men Ken Hall and Ossie Benson have made to the Coffs Harbour community has been recognised by the Rotary Club of Coffs Harbour.

As loyal servants to Coffs, Ken has served the community for 40 years and Ossie 48 years.

In a nice touch, the rotary club recognised both men's services with a presentation during a vocational visit to Ken's former business Advanced Metal Industries Australia - now owned and operated by two of Ken's sons Chris and Rick.

Advanced Metal Industries Australia gave members a tour of its packing and distribution, powder coating and metal fabrication factories.

"Our members learned the business has a turnover of more than $10 million annually up from $5 million in 2009, employing 62 local staff, and spending between $500,000 and $612,000 on freight alone annually,” Coffs Rotary's Danny Whalen said.

"The club would like to give a huge thank you to Rick, Chris, Tim, Wayne and Pat for their hospitality.”
