Teenager's wild ride

A YOUNG P-plater has taken a drive through Coffs Harbour that onlookers will never forget.

The Toormina 18-year-old was behind the wheel of a Toyota Supra in Isles Drive at 10.45pm on Monday when all hell broke loose.

Police said he lost control as he negotiated a left-hand bend as he headed south, about 250 metres north of Industrial Drive.

He mounted the gutter, smashed over three water mains and ripped up a garden bed and a hedge outside a business.

The vehicle spun 180 degrees before coming to rest in a car park at the industrial estate.

The driver was not injured, but he was left heartbroken as his wreck was towed away from the scene.

Police issued the driver with an infringement notice for negligent driving.
