Teen charged over animal shootings

A TEENAGE boy has been charged over the senseless shooting of farm animals on a property in rural NSW.

Last month, six horses were shot dead on a property at Marulan, near Goulburn.

Less than a week later the owner phoned police to say he had discovered a number of bullet holes in his house and shed and that his neighbour's sheep had gone missing.

The sheep were later found dead.

Late Tuesday, police raided a home at Marulan where they arrested a 16-year-old boy.

He was arrested and charged with a series of firearms and stealing offences as well as five counts of aggravated cruelty to animals.
