Talk about ridiculous fines that are issued

TRUCKIES couldn't believe what kind of fines police have been issuing lately.

Big Rigs ran a story about a fine a woman named Sheree Panetta copped recently after one of her passengers was video-calling while in the front seat next to her.

She was fined $337.

Many drivers labelled the fine "absolutely ridiculous” and said it was all "revenue raising”.

"No respect for police, they make themselves unrespectful and this is an absolute laughing joke,” one reader said.

Some drivers raised the point of technology that would be used in their cabs that would be of "similar distraction”.

David Roll said "makes you wonder about trucks that have the in-cab displays like e-loggers etc”.

While some thought there was more than meets the eye to this story.
