TAFE awards today

TAFE’S annual graduation and presentation of awards ceremony will be held from 7.30pm today at C.ex Coffs.

This will be the 59th graduation ceremony held in Coffs Harbour.

“This is a special evening for many of our students, to be recognised and commended on their efforts during the year, with some overcoming personal obstacles and hardships to attain their goals,” Coffs Harbour campus manager Greg Robson said.

In addition to the awarding of TAFE certificates, there will be awards presented for special achievements.

“2009 was a busy year for TAFE in Coffs Harbour, with our two campuses enrolling over 7600 students in everything from short specialised courses to major Advanced Diploma qualifications,” Mr Robison said.

“This represents a growth of 9 per cent on 2008.”

“It is interesting to note that over 1000 students were from outside the Coffs Coast area, indicating the range of online and flexible study options we provide are very popular.”
