Sydney man stabbed to death at restaurant

A man has been killed and a woman taken to hospital with stab wounds after an attack at a restaurant in Sydney's north-west last night.

Police said a man approached the victims and began to stab them at a shopping centre in Hornsby just before 9.30pm.

One witness, who saw the incident from outside the restaurant, said the man was stabbed with a glass bottle.

Police said a 38-year-old man had been arrested and taken to Hornsby Police Station.

The male victim was treated by ambulance paramedics but died at the scene.
