Sydney Kings set to roll out red carpet for new coach

The Sydney Kings are set to reveal a basketball icon as its new coach tomorrow.

And Australian Regional Media understands the Kings will also unveil a new marquee player signing that will rock the NBL.

The Kings fielded offers from coaches around the world, including resumes from several former NBA coaches interested in the job, but have settled on a man who they say is a legend of the game.

They are remaining secretive about the identity of their new coach, but all will be revealed in Sydney tomorrow morning when newly appointed managing director Jeff Van Groningen and NSW Premier Mike Baird break the news to fans.

The Kings will play their home games at Allphones Arena at Homebush in 2016-17, when the Brisbane Bullets rejoin the competition.

Full details of the announcement will be reported on-line tomorrow morning.
