SWORD STOLEN: Resident chases alleged thieves down street

THE alleged theft of a two-metre sword has led to a foot chase in North Mackay.

At 1.30am yesterday, the resident of a home in Norris Rd was woken by the noise of two people allegedly searching through their unlocked vehicle.

The resident chased the two on foot but lost sight of them after a short distance.

The alleged thieves managed to get away with a black Ripcurl wallet containing ID and bank cars and the two-metre-long claymore sword.
