Swift asked to dedicate #MineforRachel

DOVES were released into the sky in memory of Rachel Erlandsen in a peaceful tribute to the 17-year-old by her friends after her funeral in Macksville at the weekend.

Hundreds of people gathered in the Macksville High School auditorium to farewell and pay tribute to Rachel and her mother, Dixie Erlandsen, who were killed in a car accident at Valla Beach on Friday, November 20.

Rachel's friends have taken to social media asking pop star, Taylor Swift, to dedicate Rachel's favourite song, Mine, at her show in Brisbane concert on Saturday.

Several of Rachel's friends established the #MineforRachel hashtag with hundreds sharing the hashtag in status to reach out to Taylor.

Rachel and her friends had planned to attend the concert this weekend before the tragedy, with friend Abbey Carson posting on Facebook "it would mean the world" for Swift to dedicate a song to Rachel.

Another friend, Courtney Robinson posted: "She (Rachel) would be honoured if 'Mine' was played at your concert in Brisbane on the 5th December 2015, because after all, she is the best thing that's ever been ours."
