Surf or hit the workbench?

HE says: Perhaps it was fitting that I found a survey revealing the internet is more important than sex for women when I was browsing the net.

Researchers asked both sexes the three things they could not live without for a month.

Men and women agreed sleep and the internet were the top two, but we amorous blokes chose sex as our third option. The girls, yawn, picked showers.

While blokes had sex in the top three, it did surprise me that access to the internet beat the physical act of love.

Given some women I know, the fact that they picked the web over us studs came as no shock.

How many times do you see the fairer sex hunched over their smart phones on Facebook or Twitter madly writing away to their friends?

I know some who can also spend upwards of an hour checking up (stalking, really) people on Facebook. Old school friends, work friends or potential boyfriends all have their accounts forensically examined by these techno-savvy ladies.

My graduating high school class is coming up to its 10-year reunion, but the numbers of those attending the official function are extremely low. Why? I think it's because Facebook and the internet have taken the surprise out of those events.

I pretty much know everything everyone who went to my school is doing anyway.

But back to the main point. Let's hope that with our world becoming increasingly more internet dependent, that sex doesn't drop completely off the female population's radar. Otherwise guys will need to use the internet a whole lot more.

She says: My top three things I could not live without: oxygen, water and food.

To me they are the staple requirements, even considering sex - which seems men cannot live without.

That is no surprise to me. Of course they would say sex if they were given only three options, but for women to chose the internet as one of the three things they could not live without baffles me.

I can just picture it now...a woman sleeping in her bed with her laptop just waiting to Google.

"Sorry, honey, I'm not in the mood for any Yahooing tonight, you will have to entertain yourself, with your iPad."

I think the choice of the internet say over family, love, friends and even sex is really sad and just goes to show that sometimes a dial-up connection is mistaken for a good old-fashioned hook-up.

Zane said he can understand that women would choose the internet because they are spending hours on Twitter and Facebook.

I wouldn't be surprised if some men chose the internet as well for more ummm intimate relations.

The world is becoming more dependent on technology ecause everything is easy to obtain. It is right there at our fingertips and is only a download away. But we have to be careful when it comes to living on the internet; sometimes you can get a virus. I guess in that respect we have to protect ourselves and limit the hours we are online.

When it comes to getting it on , it's not as simple as downloading. Wooing and romance is involved, which any red-blooded woman would want. If not she has evolved into a twit, which is a symptom of the Twitter virus.
