Support for fire crews from the boss

GREG Mullins likes to call his visits to regional fire stations his 'reality check'.

The NSW Fire Brigades Commissioner was on the Coffs Coast yesterday to talk to local fire crews and to show them his support.

“I like to come up and see the troops and hear what they've got to say on issues of concern to them,” Mr Mullins said.

“I don't believe I can do my job properly unless I talk to them. The big thing for me is being able to say thank you for the great job they do.

“They're always there, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. They're just fantastic people, and my job is to support them.”

Mr Mullins met some of our newest firefighters at Coffs Harbour Fire Station following the recent staffing upgrade there.
