Super mums: Local mothers doing it all
NEW research has confirmed what we all know: mums are under pressure.
The research shows while modern mums have more support when raising their children, 81% feel pressure to be a 'perfect parent.'
This figure is up from 67% a generation ago.
The endless supply of information could be to blame, with many mums feeling overwhelmed.
While a wide range of materials, support resources and online forums are available, many mums believe their own mum is the best source of advice when it comes to raising children.
However, as we are made to stay in the workforce longer, mums are less-able to rely on their parents to care for children through the work day, as more mums did in the past.
The Advocate wants to hear your stories: how do you handle the pressures of being a modern day mum?
Are you struggling with the 9am-5pm grind while raising kids? Has your employer let you take on more flexible hours? Are you able to stay at home?
What was the attitude in your workplace when you did return to work?
We'd like to hear the experiences of mums in a range of situations.
