Sunshine Coast Cup Day ready to entertain

HORSE RACING: The Coastline BMW Sunshine Coast Cup Day will be held this Saturday, January 27.

The raceday will see the fourth year that Coastline BMW and Sunshine Coast Turf Club have teamed up to offer a top quality metropolitan raceday.

The day will see the running of two feature races; the Listed $100,000 Coastline BMW Sunshine Coast Cup (1400m) and the Coastline BMW 2YO Classic (1200m) which is worth up to $177,500 for QTIS eligible horses.

A capacity field of 18 will line-up in the Coastline BMW Sunshine Coast Cup including last year's winner Sir Moments, trained by Stephen O'Dea and last start Magic Millions Open winner I'm a Rippa trained by Tony Gollan.

Locally trained Darryl Hansen galloper Pennino will start one of the favourites in the Coastline BMW 2YO Classic.

As part of the Australia Day long weekend there will be plenty of entertainment for families including the rock-climbing wall, a jumping castle and the Kids Club will operate from 12pm - 4pm.

The Sunshine Coast Turf Club is a popular location in the Summer holiday season and the club is offering a special online 'Summer Pass' for the feature meeting.

To be purchased online at sctc.com.au, the $20 pass provides racecourse admission, a burger from the Furlong Café and choice of a beer, wine or soft drink.

A crowd in excess of 2,000 is expected, with locals, holiday makers and the drive market from Toowoomba, Brisbane, Gold Coast and Gympie attending the day to witness quality racing on the Sunshine Coast Track.
