Suns outmuscle Hawks for finals win

COFFS Harbour has made it through to the second round of the Waratah State League Playoffs with a courageous 85-71 win against Illawarra at Beaton Park Stadium.

Captain coach Matt Shanahan lead from the front for the Suns scoring 29 points while Canadian import Alex Desroches contributed 26 to help the Sun's claim victory in the sudden death elimination match.

The Suns will hope to continue its playoff run next week when it is set to hit the road once again to take on either Ryde or Wagga Wagga.

A win will guarantee the Suns a ticket to the Waratah State League Finals weekend in Maitland on September 1 -2.
