Sun shines for team penning

PLENTY of sunshine means the monthly Mid North Coast team penning event will go ahead at Macksville showgrounds on Sunday.

With a washout two weeks back, club spokesman Phil Grace said the hunt was on for a spare date in the calendar and fortunately July 29 was free.

"We've remembered to put in our order for good weather this time," he said.

"So the association would like to invite all members and visitors back for a new July competition day.

"Sign on is from 8am for a start just after 9am.

"Spectators are more than welcome to come and sit in our spectator area - just bring a deck chair and make yourselves comfy.

"Our canteen serves the best vanilla slice on the east coast and I have been personally testing other slices up and down the coast to verify this fact."

The next two-day event will only be held on August 11-12.
