Stu ‘on date’ with Sophie lookalike

JUST days after being dumped by Sophie Monk, Sydney publican Stu Laundy has been snapped out and about with another woman who strongly resembles the popular host who broke his heart.

Laundy, 45, was seen dining with the unknown blonde on Thursday at the Woolloomooloo Bay Hotel.

Wearing a tight black dress, leather jacket and dark sunglasses, the mystery woman had her blonde hair pulled back in a slick ponytail and could have easily been mistaken for the former Bardot star.

While others may seek privacy after having their heart publicly broken, Laundy didn't seem to mind if fans - or paparazzi - saw. The pair hung out on the veranda of the inner-Sydney pub, which his family recently purchased, and engaged in animated conversation.

Monk, 37, announced she'd split from Laundy after just six months together on Instagram last week. The pair started dating after meeting on Channel Ten's The Bachelorette last year and faced persistent rumours the romance was only for the camera.

In the emotional late-night Instagram post, Monk said she gave the relationship her "best shot" but it "just didn't work out" because the two were "very different people".

On Monday, Laundy told Nova's Fitzy & Wippa the Instagram post had alerted him to their split.

"It was Soph's [decision] - and apart from being so publicly brushed, I have no hard feelings whatsoever," he told the radio hosts.

"I sort of found out via Instagram, but we both knew in our hearts it was pushing toward a friendship ... I think it was a decision we'd both been coming to."
